The Chelsea Hockey team bounced back from a season opening loss to win the Chelsea Invitational last weekend.
The Bulldogs defeated Okemos 7-4 in a high scoring affair at Arctic Ice Arena Saturday night.
Christopher Gingell put the Bulldogs on the board first, but Okemos answered with a pair of goals to make it 2-1.
Brennen Wright tied the game with a power play goal late in the first to make it 2-2 after one.
Okemos retook the lead early in the second, but Braden Steele tied it at three with a power play goal.
Wright and Conor Dougherty scored goals 31 second apart to make it 5-3 Chelsea, but just seven seconds after Dougherty’s goal, Okemos found the net to make it 5-4 after two periods.
Four minutes into the third period, Wright would find the net for a 6-4 lead and he scored his fourth of the game with four minutes left to seal the win for Chelsea.
Wes Sullivan collected two assists, while Wright, Nicklas Holmberg, Will McFate, B. Steele, Thomas Steele, and Brad Sullivan each had one assist.
Aiden Boote made 16 saves in net for the Bulldogs.
Chelsea reached the finals by defeating the Capital Area (Lansing) team 4-1 Friday night.
Braden Steele scored a pair of first period goals to put Chelsea on top 2-0 after one.
Wright found the net in the second for a 3-0 lead, but Lansing cut the lead to 3-1 with a goal midway through the second.
It would stay that way until Wright scored an empty netter with three seconds left in the game.
Holmberg, Gingell, Thomas Steele, Brad Sullivan, and Tyler Emmert each had an assist. Ethan Dunahoo saved 16 out of 17 shots in net for the Bulldogs.
