The Chelsea football team saw its fine season come to an end Friday night, falling to a strong River Rouge squad that many are predicting to go to Ford Field, 35-10.
It didn’t take long for River Rouge to show its speed as they took the opening kick back 79 yards for a touchdown for a quick lead.
The Chelsea offense was able to move the ball for most of the night, driving into Rouge territory several times, but the Bulldogs could not finish the drives and put the ball in the endzone.
Cullen Lindsay booted a 32 yard field goal in first half, but Rouge would take a 21-3 lead into the half.
The lead grew to 28-3 before Thomas Steele cored on an 8-yard run to make it 28-10. River Rouge would add one more score to put the game away.
Chelsea finished the season with a 9-2 overall record.
