Congressman Walberg To Host Lapel-Pinning Ceremony In Saline To Honor Vietnam Vets

Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) will host a Vietnam veteran lapel-pinning ceremony in Saline July 21. The event will commemorate the 50-year anniversary of the Vietnam War.

Any veteran who served in active duty at any time from Nov. 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of location, is invited to join the ceremony at the Saline American Legion located at 320 West Michigan Avenue in Saline. The event will begin at 5 pm.

“We are forever indebted to those who answered America’s call and dutifully served our country during the Vietnam War,” Walberg said. “It is an honor to participate in this pinning ceremony as we offer local veterans the recognition and respect that has been so deeply earned.”

The Vietnam War Commemorative Lapel Pin is authorized by the United States Congress in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. To register for the this special pin, Vietnam-era veterans can call Walberg’s office at 517-780-9075 or visit his website at walberg.house.gov/Vietnam.

“After fifty years, this tribute is long overdue,” Walberg added.

Walberg will host several of these events across the 7th Congressional district through mid-August. The public is also welcome to attend and honor the veterans.
