An amazing season come to an end in shocking fashion last week as the #1 ranked Dexter soccer team was upset by # 7 Coldwater 2-0 in the Regional semifinals in Marshall.

The Dreadnaughts entered the game with a 21-0 record and had given up just two goals all season, but Coldwater did something that had not happened to the Dreads all season.

They put them behind.

After a scoreless first half that saw Dexter fall short in many scoring opportunities, Coldwater broke through on a corner kick the was deflected past Dexter goaltender Max Harreld for a 1-0 Cardinal lead.

Dexter used its usual ball control offense and even though they trailed they stayed with what they did best, but a breakdown led to another Coldwater goal late and the Dreadnaughts were forced to scramble for the first time this season.

Coldwater was up to the task and kept the Dreadnaughts at bay and handed them their first loss and ended their season with a 21-1 overall record.
