Passed away at age 61, Sunday, September 10, 2017, at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, with his wife and family by his side. He was born August 31, 1956, in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Harley C. and Mary L. (Pollock) Harding.

He had lived in the Fitchburg area for over 30 years, coming from Westland. He had a deep love and commitment for his career and co-workers at Corrigan Oil, where he had worked for over 15 years, and a creative eye and talent for landscape design. He enjoyed plenty of family time, loved each of his sons-in-law as his own. He loved golfing, fishing, the Detroit Tigers, and University of Michigan football.

June 26, 1976, in Westland, he married Cheryl Jeanette McCollum, and she survives. Also surviving are five children: Mary Jeanette (Chris) Robinson of Munith, Tonya (J.J.) Wright of Munith, Dawn (Kenny) Ransom of Stockbridge, Kelly (Rob) Beckel of Munith, and Shelly (Travis) Powers of Stockbridge; 13 grandchildren: Dakota, Carson, Mayzie, Harlie, Drew, Kylie, Anna, Collin, John, Carter, Jay, Claire, and Luke; his siblings: Jerry Foster of Alabama, Henry (Bud) Harding of Alabama, Sarah Elrod-Ausbrook of Indiana, John Harding of Indiana, Bill Harding of Indiana, Mark Harding of Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine companion, Daisy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joan M. Jones and Sandra Petry; and one brother, Paul L. Harding.

A funeral service will take place at 11am, Thursday, September 14, 2017, from the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea, with Pastor Will Carson officiating. Burial will follow at Munith Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8pm and Thursday from 10am until the time of service.
