At age 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 25, 2016, at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital in Chelsea, Michigan.
She was born March 10, 1926, in Detroit, MI, the only daughter of William and May Martin. She was the adored sister of William (Margaret), Donald (Ethel), and Robert (Marilyn) Martin, all deceased.
Marilyn married her dear husband, William Haug, and they lived in St. Clair Shores for 38 years. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She is survived by a daughter Cynthia (Rick) Balyo, a granddaughter Anna (Andrew) Thiel, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She lived in Chelsea for 28 years, making a new home for herself after her husband William’s death. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church and volunteered in the ice cream parlor at the Chelsea Retirement Community. She was blessed with many devoted friends with whom she loved to play cards. She was also an avid reader. She leaves behind new friends at the Country Meadows Care Home in Grass Lake, where she received constant good care for the last six months.
Marilyn was a sweet and generous lady. She will be greatly missed but remembered for a life well-lived.
Cremation has taken place and no public services will be held. Private interment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy.
