Bruce Allen Szcodronski

Passed away at age 60, at his home on Saturday, July 29, 2017.  He was born on October 17, 1956, in Flint, MI, the son of Edward Frank and Mary Ellen (Roebuck) Szcodronski.

Bruce graduated from Linden High School in 1975, where he was in the hall of fame for track, and had attended Olivet College.  He worked for Boysville of Michigan and also the Chelsea Comfort Inn for many years.  He was active in the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, Chelsea Rotary, and was loyal to the Chelsea Schools and businesses in the community.  Bruce coached numerous sports teams in the Chelsea community for many years.

He was a very positive and caring person, a loving Papa, and an amazing husband, father, and grandfather.

April 21, 1984, he married Teresa Lynn “Teri” Reeves, and she survives.  Also surviving are his children: Kay (Cody) Schiller, Carly Szcodronski, and Jay Szcodronski; his grandson, Jacob; his siblings: Edward (Sharon) Szcodronski, Charlene (Edward) Helble, and Kevin (Holly) Szcodronski, and sister-in-law Karen Szcodronski; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Thomas Szcodronski.

A memorial service will take place at 11am on Thursday, August 3, 2017, from the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7pm and Thursday from 10am until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Chelsea Rotary or Stand Up For Cancer.


Deborah Marie Roth

At age 64, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. She was born November 23, 1952, in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of Eugene and Helen (Mayers) Hadley.

Deborah had lived in the Dexter area since 1981 and worked in administration for IHA Health. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, camping, and watching birds, deer, and ducks at the pond.

June 5, 1971, she married Paul Arthur Roth in Ann Arbor, and he survives. Also surviving are her children: Michael (Beth) Roth of Hell, MI, David Roth of Alabama, and James (Hilery) Roth of Hamburg; two grandchildren, Kali and Mackenize; and her siblings: Terry Hadley of Belleville, Gary Hadley of Ypsilanti, and Betty Dorrie of New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services are private. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Brain Research at the University of Michigan or to the Humane Society of Huron Valley.

Phyllis Ann (Weinkauf) Crawford

Passed away at age 82, Friday, July 28, 2017. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, July 31, 2017 from Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Monsignor Jerry Vincke officiated. Burial took place in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

Phyllis was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on January 6, 1935 the daughter of the late Earl Charles and Mary Agnes (Heatley) Weinkauf. She was formerly a resident of Chelsea, Burton and Davison.

June 1, 1957, she married Robert Crawford in Chelsea, Michigan. Phyllis was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Surviving are children, Stephen (Riani) Crawford of Missouri City, Texas, Linda (David)Schoener of Grand Blanc, MI, Daniel (Gemma) Crawford of Kentwood, MI, and Mark(Linda)Crawford of Vicksburg, MI; Sisters, Joan Weinkauf of Chelsea, MI, and Judith Oates of Fairfax Station, VA; Grandchildren, Jason (Maja), Benjamin (Mary) and Jacob Schoener; William, Whitney, Emily, Maisy, Aberdine, Haley and Aidan Crawford; Brother-in-law, Oscar Bareis of Chelsea, MI; She is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews.

Phyllis was also preceded in death by husband, Robert Crawford, Sister, Mary Baries, Brother-in-Law, C. Michael Oates and Sister-in-Law, Judith Relitz.
