Saline High School capped off its Homecoming festivities with a parade and football game Oct. 6, following with the Homecoming dance the next night.
Homecoming spirit week and festivities started with the annual Powderpuff Football game Oct. 1, which saw the girls senior class defeat the juniors in the championship game. The festivities also featured a strong community turnout for the Homecoming parade.
A little after 5:15 pm on Oct. 6, the parade made its way down Campus Parkway to Hornet Stadium. Led by area cheerleaders, the parade featured the class floats, Saline High School marching band, Homecoming class representatives and twirelettes.
The Homecoming Queen candidates were Kelly Adamovicz, Claire Kalem, Erica Simpson and Abby Wilson. The Mr. Pretty Legs nominees were Dominic Dorsett, Derek Liemohn, Jameson Swanson and Jake White.
The winners were: Kalem and Swanson. They were crowned Homecoming Queen and Mr. Pretty Legs, respectively, at halftime of the football game against Ann Arbor Pioneer that night.
The freshman class court was Calista Issel and Gavin Lytle, while the sophomore class was represented by Erin Reilly and Colin McGreal. The junior class court was Audrey Barsch an Nolan Wright.
In the Homecoming football game, Saline squared off against Ann Arbor Pioneer at Hornet Stadium Oct. 6, thumping their SEC Red rival 49-7. The Homecoming dance follows at the Saline High School Commons Oct. 7.
