Saline K9 Crusaders Seek Pet Supplies For Hurricane Relief

The Saline K9 Crusaders are conducting a hurricane relief donations drive for animal shelters in the Houston area.

The items sought during the donation drive include: pet food, cleaning products, blankets, towels, cat litter, pet and people insect repellent, Tupperware storage bins with lids, collars, leashes and more. Donations can be dropped off at Saline City Hall at the east-end carport, near the two dog kennels.

Other local drop-off locations are: Wags To Wiskers, 1363 West Michigan Avenue, Saline; Pets and Things, 541 East Michigan Avenue, Saline; and About Cats and Dogs, 147 Keveling Drive, Saline.

Items will be collected until Oct. 8.

The Saline K9 Crusaders is a local all-volunteer grassroots organization with the specific purpose of procuring funds and supplies to benefit animal shelters. The group is working with the Houston SPCA, an animal protection organization in Houston, and will rent a U-Haul truck and deliver all the donated items as directed by the Houston SPCA.

    I live in Houston. The Houston SPCA is a very HIGH KILL “shelter”. They have admitted that they do NOT adopt out any dog that they claim is a Pit Bull, meaning that all of those dogs are KILLED. They do not deserve your donations. How about donating to one of the No Kill shelters who are working hard to save ALL pets, and who are working to reunite ALL displaced pets with their owners? For instance, Friends for Life or Austin Pets Alive?
