The City of Saline has narrowed the field of police chief candidates to two finalists who will be interviewed by the entire Saline City Council at a special meeting scheduled for 6:15pm and 7:15pm Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Saline City Hall.

The Saline Police Chief Hiring Committee has been working with the executive search firm, The Mercer Group, to review the 40 applications of those candidates that desire to succeed Larry Hrinik as the next police chief of Saline.  After a thorough vetting process, the hiring committee has narrowed the field of seven to the top two finalists.

The top two finalists are (in alphabetic order):  Mr. Jerrod Hart of the City of Novi Police Department.  Mr. Hart is currently the Assistant Chief of Police – Support Services for the City of Novi, Michigan; and Mr. Jeffrey Lewis of the Muskegon Police Department.  Mr. Lewis is currently the Director of Public Safety (police and fire) for the City of Muskegon, Michigan.

The Saline Police Chief finalist interviews are open to the public, and are scheduled for Thursday, November 9th at 6:15pm and 7:15pm.  In addition to the interviews, the Saline City Council invites the public to attend a meet and greet with the police chief finalists prior to the interviews from 5 to 6pm at Saline City Hall in Council Chambers.  The Saline City Council is expected to make a decision on who they would like to hire as the next Saline Police Chief at an upcoming regular meeting after the November 9 interviews.
