The Saline boys tennis team looked strong against Monroe at home Sept. 9 but struggled the next day on the road against Novi.
The Hornets topped Monroe 8-0, where the second singles player, senior Jack Geiger, won his match 6-1, 6-0, and the third singles player, freshman Cam Tressler, won in three sets, 6-0, 0-6, 6-2. Further, singles player Ethan Shell won convincingly 6-0, 6-0, while top singles player Tyler Stachler won by forfeit as Monroe’s top singles player did not make the trip to Saline.
The double teams of juniors Landon Shell and Michael Barba and senior Nick Ebert and junior Chavez Rodriguez as well as the doubles team of junior Michael Wolfe and sophomore Sammy Sabo all blanked their Monroe opponents, with each team winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
The doubles team of sophomores Conner Krager and Alex Mai also won easily 6-0, 6-1.
