As the Michigan Avenue construction project in downtown Saline continues, South Ann Arbor Street is expected to reopen on the afternoon of July 1 at the end of the day.
South Ann Arbor Street closed on June 27 between Michigan Avenue and Henry Street as the streetscape work in the area began. However, South Ann Arbor Street will continue to have intermittent closings for the next two to three weeks as the streetscape work between the street and the buildings continues to take place.
Although South Ann Arbor Street is reopening on Friday afternoon, the parking lots on the 100-block of the street will remain closed. Further, the South Harris Street intersection will be closed in the morning on July 5 for continued water main work.
Finally, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) rules require the contractor to stop work at 3 pm on July 1 through July 4 for the holiday weekend. Therefore, construction work will cease on Friday afternoon and resume on Tuesday, July 5 at 7 am.
