An officer was dispatched to Mill Pond Park in Saline after a resident reported vandalism Sept. 23. Arriving at the scene at about 10am that morning, the officer found a racial slur inscribed on a wooden panel on the play structure in the park. The vandals inscribed the slur near the “Tic-Tac-Toe” game on the structure, the police report said.

The officer took digital photographs of the vandalism and contacted the Saline DPW to have work crews repair the damage to the play structure. Later that same day, DPW crews responded to the park and repaired the damage to the wood frame.

According to the police report, there are not any suspects or witnesses to the incident. The case was closed due to lack of evidence to further investigate.
