Viola Medina

Stockbridge, Michigan

Passed away at age 75, at home on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.  She was born June 15, 1941, in Peru, Indiana, the daughter of Sterling and Ethel (Howard) Craft.  She came to the Stockbridge area when she was a child, and she attended the Bunker Hill Church of God.  Viola loved hunting, fishing, gardening, going to the casino, and spending time with her family.

In 1959, she married Andrew G. Medina in Stockbridge and he survives.  Also surviving are their children: Andrew Glenn Medina Jr. of Stockbridge, Ethel A. Marshall of Jackson, Tammy Medina-Patrick of Howell, Paula Medina of Stockbridge, Shannon Cashin of Stockbridge, and Billy Joe Medina of Grand Rapids; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; seven siblings: Wilma Jean Simons of Parma, Ruthie Medina of Stockbridge, Rena (Billy) Fleming of Alabama, Eugene Craft of Kentucky, Maxine Owens of Stockbridge, Claudette Taylor of Florida, Margaret (Dennis) Vercruysse of Harrison, and sister-in-law Sandy Craft of Leslie.

She was preceded in death by her son Timmy Medina, her granddaughter Andrea Medina-Hicks, and her brother Edward Craft.

A funeral service took place Monday, April 24, 2017, from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge.  Interment will take place at a later date at Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge.
