Last year’s Dexter Rotary Jazz Night / Silent Auction was again such a successful event that they are bringing it back April 14, 2018 to the UA Local 190 Hall located at 7920 Jackson Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48103.

The organization is currently working hard on a menu with a strolling buffet generously donated by St. Joseph Mercy of Hospital of Chelsea and desserts will be provided by Dexter’s Paul Cousins. The night again will be hosted by WEMU’s longtime just retired Music Director Linda Yohn with entertainment from the Randy Napoleon Jazz Band. Wine and beer will also be served.

In 2017, 140 people were part of this event, raising over $21,000 in support of the Dexter community. Because of this effort, the Rotary was able to send several Dexter High School students to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), awarded five annual college scholarships to students attending Washtenaw Community College as well as fund the Dexter Interact Club and sponsor a foreign exchange student.

In addition, they provided financial contributions to many other local programs including Shop with A Cop, the Dexter District Library Summer Reading Program, Mill Creek Middle School’s Community Service and Leadership Camp, the Dexter Memorial Day Parade and Faith in Action.

The goal of this event is a simple one. The more money they are able to raise, the more local programs they are able to support. Join the event to partnering with the Dexter Rotary to make it a night to remember.
