Allen John Carlson

His Legacy… Allen John Carlson, 85, passed away November 1, 2024. He was born on March 31, 1939, in Tacoma, Washington, to Arthur and Rose (Kramer) Carlson. Allen married the love of his life, Patricia (Fischer) Carlson, on June 16, 1974, in Milford, Michigan. Allen was a man of many passions and talents. A lifelong lover of antiques, he took particular pride in his treasured antique boat, which he lovingly restored and maintained. He and his beloved wife, Patricia, shared a passion for Depression Glass, curating a unique collection through their involvement with the Michigan Depression Glass Society. Together, they spent many weekends attending estate sales, searching for pieces that spoke to them and added color to their lives. Allen found great joy in the lakefront home he and Patricia built on The Chain Lakes. His life was filled with companionship of friends, many of whom he met through his work with the Lions Club, where he once served as President. Allen also served for 6 ½ years as the treasurer of Hamburg Township. Known for his big heart and willingness to lend a hand, Allen was a friend to all who knew him. His sense of humor was unique to him, witty and always ready to bring laughter into any room. Above all, Allen cherished his family and friends, who will miss him deeply.
His Family… Allen will be missed by his children, Terry (Robyn) Carlson, Sandy (Bill) Bowan, and Shannon Lafferty-DeRaad (Scott DeRaad); grandchildren, Austin, Robert, Chelsea (Aidan Heed) Scott, Ben, and Chris. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Carlson; parents, Arthur and Rose Carlson; brother, Donald Carlson; grandson, Cory Carlson.
