In an era of unprecedented on-line access to everything, an honored tradition has taken hold in the City of Chelsea as we host our 13th annual Wine, Women & Shopping event November 10 from 10am to 6pm. This early November star heralds the holiday season with a myriad of special activities including: live music, karaoke, free raffles, specialty menus and drinks, desserts, treats, in-store demos, special discounts, wine tastings, and an artisan market.
Merchants deck their stores inside and out, front to back with their unique holiday inventory. Everyone puts their shine on for this holiday event, showcasing their finest offerings – pulling out all the stops to make your experience memorable and fun.
The first Wine, Women & Shopping event came together in 2006, from the musings of three three local merchants – Pam Conn, Alta Brown and Lynn Feist who recognized that Chelsea, while a relatively small city, had a lot to offer to the most discriminating shoppers. “Our businesses are full of unique items you cannot find in a mall and we have great local food. You can shop, have lunch and a glass of wine with your sister or friend, and find the perfect gift,” said Pam Conn, owner of Wines on Main.
Experience a day in Chelsea with your true shopping buddies who help you make the best no regrets decisions, and who are most likely to utter helpful, encouraging insights like: You do know that research shows that women who spend a lot of time shopping live longer and are less likely to suffer from depression!
But also true to Chelsea’s tradition of sharing and caring, USArtQuest and the Chelsea Depot Artisans Market are accepting non-perishable items, cleaning products, paper goods for Faith In Action. While you are dropping off your donations, register to win $50 gift certificates to participating merchants, or the Grand Prize, “A Night on the Town,” including an overnight stay at Chelsea’s Comfort Inn, two tickets to the Purple Rose Theatre, and a $50. gift certificate to a participating restaurant.
With over 30 merchants and restaurants offering their holiday finest and customer incentives, it’s easy to understand the attraction to this event. Wine, Women & Shopping welcomes residents, neighbors and friends to join local businesses for a delightful day in Chelsea. For 13 years the community of merchants, restaurant owners, artists and business owners have worked together to make Wine, Women & Shopping a successful event. “When you buy from a small business, an actual person does a little happy dance…,” anonymous.
