Ballet Chelsea is proud to present its 21st annual Nutcracker performance the first two weekends of December. Adding to the excitement of this year’s production, Ballet Chelsea and Jackson Symphony Orchestra are once again joining forces. This exciting collaborative production brings music and dance together for four performances in Jackson and Chelsea, raising the visibility of arts in both communities.
The partnership draws on the talents of Wendi DuBois, Artistic director of Ballet Chelsea and Matthew Aubin, Music Director of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra to create an enchanting holiday performance.
When asked about the partnership, Matthew Aubin said, “The most rewarding part is seeing the smiles on the dancer’s faces. The most challenging part is understanding cues and how tempo can impact the choreography.”
Seeing the growth and excitement of the company dancers working with professional musicians is a joy for Wendi Dubois, who said, “The collaboration offers a heightened artistic experience to our audience.”
