Synopsis of Action of the Dexter Township Board of Trustees Regular Board Meeting August 21, 2018

Called to order at 7:00 PM

Members Present: Supervisor Rider, Clerk Ceo, Treasurer Brushaber, Trustees Compton, Drolett and Gajewski.

Absent: Trustee Mesko, with notice.

Also Present: Christina McEmber, Ordinance Officer.

Supervisor’s Remarks: None

Call to the Public: None

Oral Reports: Trustee Compton, Broadband Committee Chair, updated the Board on the Broadband committee initiatives: Met with Charter Government Affairs personnel who advised Township Business internet could be upgraded from 100 to 200 gigs at no extra charge also for residential clients an upgrade from 60 to 100 gigs which was incorrect information, there are no free upgrades there are costs for everything; Supervisor Rider advised permits have been pulled for the Township Hall remodel; Trustee Compton, Township representative to CAP/DART, advised local contractors made a presentation stating even small changes to zoning ordinances has driven up the cost of housing.

The Board took the following action: Approved the Agenda for August 21, 2018 Board meeting adding under Oral reports CAP/DART report; Approved the minutes from the July 17, 2018 Regular Board Meeting as present at the meeting; No action on the Multi-Lakes Water and Sewer Articles of Incorporation; Approved the renewal of the Charter Cable Franchise for a period often(l0) years, to include a 3% franchise fee for video services; Approved a refund of

$200 of the $450 Special Use fee to Fred Ulisse; Approved Resolution #18-520 to set the 2018 Dexter Township millage rates at 0.7858 mils for Allocated General Operating, 1.6520 mills for Voted Fire Services, 1.4174 mills for Voted Police Services, and .9717 mills for Voted Fire Sub­ station Construction.

Board also authorized payment of: General Fund bills totaling $185,537.74, Fire Fund bills totaling $60,883.70, Police Fund bills totaling $40,808.50, Agency Fund bills totaling $3,193.37 and gross monthly payroll of $33,450.30.

Second Call to the Public: Linda Singer, Dexter Township residents would like to see Dexter Township Zoning Ordinance reflect that common use areas around our lakes be lake specific.
