Editor’s note: In its May 15, 2024, edition, the Sun Times News included a special “Discover Tecumseh” section. It contains articles describing many of the businesses and community life in this charming town. We’re running the articles online and encourage you to add a trip to Tecumseh to your list of fun things to do this summer.

Cambrian Assisted Living & Memory Care, a family-owned business operated by Gareth and Denise Zebley, prioritizes exceptional care for seniors in a gracious and homelike setting. Their Tecumseh, Michigan facility recently underwent extensive renovations, enhancing its atrium, baby grand piano, spacious dining room, and a range of comforting amenities like sunrooms, fireplaces, a salon, spa room, and a billiard lounge.

The Zebleys’ journey in senior living began in 2000, collaborating with friends who had longstanding experience in the industry. They initially established Heritage Assisted Living in Battle Creek before creating Cambrian’s Tecumseh campus in 2005.

The name Cambrian, signifying a “Welshman,” reflects Gareth’s heritage, rooted in Wales through his mother, Audrey, who immigrated to the U.S. at 18. The Cambrian logo, a Celtic knot, symbolizes protection, longevity, and resilience. Its four segments embody the care, compassion, protection, and enrichment Cambrian offers, ensuring that residents’ minds, bodies, and souls are nourished daily.

Beyond Tecumseh, Cambrian also operates in South Lyon. The Zebleys believe their “Cambrian experience” distinguishes itself through their hands-on management and personal connections with residents and families. “We’re a business of people serving people, pursuing excellence and joy daily,” Gareth Zebley explains. This success hinges on team members who possess a genuine passion for serving seniors.

Cambrian offers a unique “boutique” feel: large enough to foster meaningful friendships and small enough to know everyone by name. Its layout enables residents to find the dining room with ease, ensuring a seamless and comfortable living experience.
