Cecelia “Ceci” Catherine Sheridan, of Saline, Michigan, died on September 1, 2024, at the age of 79.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, John Sheridan and her three children: Cecelia (Angelos) Hannides of Conway, SC; Margaret Ann (Adrian) Sheridan of Chapel Hill, NC; and John (Cynthia) Sheridan of Colorado Springs, CO. Also surviving are four beloved grandchildren: Jacob and Abigail Sheridan, and Oliver and Islay Bischoff.
She is also survived by her brother Bill Styslinger and sisters Mary Siegel, Grace Espinosa, Margaret Styslinger, Helen Bennis, and Joanne Styslinger.
Preceding her in death are her parents William and Cecelia Styslinger, and her brother Joseph Styslinger.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ceci was the oldest of the eight children and fifty-six cousins in the Styslinger family. She lived a varied and fulfilling life as wife, mother, Navy wife, elected school board official, Pastoral Associate for St. Andrew’s Church and Catholic scholar.
After graduating from Duquesne University with a M.A in Philosophy, Ceci married and embarked on the life of a Navy wife: living and raising children in many places from California to Maine and from Iceland to Italy. She talked often with joy about these experiences and through her own enthusiasm instilled a sense of adventure in her tightknit family.
After moving with her family to Saline, Michigan in 1992, Ceci served the St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church community for thirty-two years and was employed there as the Pastoral Associate for almost twenty years. A talented listener as well as teacher, Ceci was well known and well loved by all the people of St. Andrew Parish.
Ceci Sheridan’s funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 910 Austin Road, Saline, Michigan. There will be a visitation at 10:00am in the church narthex.
