Passed away at age 81, October 3, 2018 at his home with family by his side. He was born December 10, 1936 in Ann Arbor, MI the son of Irving and Olla (Kappler) Broderick.
He married Sandra S. Tucker on January 11, 1957, and together they had five children: Charles Jr. (Pamela) Broderick of Grass Lake, Cynthia Squires of Belleville, Theresa Broderick of Belleville, Lisa (Rick) Beeman of Chelsea, and Catherine (Scott) Austin of Parma.
Sandra preceded him in death in August of 1999.
March 4, 2010 he married Virginia L. Sims, and she survives along with her children: Robert (Lori) Wood of Battle Creek, Jeffrey (Lynn) Wood of Virginia, Daniel Wood II of Jackson, Stephanie (Mark) Pekrul of Mason; as well as one sister Nancy Grounds of Britton; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Charles lived in the area his entire life. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. He owned Broderick Tower Shell in Chelsea from 1977 to 1989. He also worked for the Washtenaw Co. Sheriff Department for 12 years, and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital as Security for ten years. He enjoyed farming, raising Hereford cattle, and fishing.
Funeral services took place from Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home Monday, October 8,
2018 with Rev. Robert Wright officiating. Burial followed at Bethlehem Cemetery in Ann Arbor. The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday. Contributions can be made to Dexter American Legion Auxiliary.
