The Chelsea baseball team saw its season come to an end with a 7-3 loss to Parma Western Saturday.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the first one an RBI groundout by Carson Robinson and 2-0 in the second when Kyle Knight drove home Grant Barrett who had tripled.

Western rallied in the fourth when the first five batters reached and scored four times to take a 4-2 lead.

Another RBI groundout by Robinson in the fifth cut the lead to 4-3, but the Panthers put the game away with three runs in the bottom of the 5th for a 7-3 lead.

Chelsea loaded the bases with one out in the sixth but could not score and put two runners on in the seventh and again could not score as they saw their season end.

Thomas Steele and Parker Shaw each had two hits to lead the offense. Robinson finished with a hit and two RBI, Knight and hit and RBI, Barrett and Hunter Lay with a hit and run scored each.

The Bulldogs reached the finals by beating Eaton Rapids 2-1 in nine innings.

The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead in the third, but Shaw drove home Steele with an RBI single to make it 1-1 in the 4th.

It would stay that way until the ninth when Shaw reached on a fielders choice.  Owen Brown went in to run for him and advanced to second on a balk and third on a wild pitch. Ryan Bost then drove him home with a single for the walk-off win.

Bost finished with two hits and an RBI to lead the offense. Gavin Bell earned the win in relief on the mound striking out two.
