Chelsea Baseball Sweeps Series from Adrian

The Chelsea baseball team kicked off SEC White play with a three-game sweep of Adrian this week.

The Bulldogs opened with a doubleheader sweep of the Maples 6-1, 16-0 Monday.

Carson Robinson went the distance on the mound with five K’s and allowing just three hits.

Hunter Lay powered the Bulldogs offense with three hits, including a homerun and scored three times. Robinson had a double and two RBI, while Hunter Neff picked up a pair of hits.

The Bulldogs scored six in the first inning of the nightcap and cruised to the win.

Neff had a big night at the plate with a homerun and two triples and drove in five runs. Lay, Robinson, and Griffin Bell each had two hits and an RBI. Gavin Bell picked up three hits and an RBI and Joe Taylor two hit and an RBI.

Neff earned the win on the mound, allowing three hits and striking out two.

Chelsea finished the three-game sweep with a 9-1 win Wednesday. The Bulldogs lead 4-1 going into the fifth, but a big five-run inning put the game away.

Lay and Neff collected two hits each at the plate, while Robinson, Parker Shaw, and Quinn Starkey each had a hit and two RBI. Lay was the winning pitcher with two strikeouts and allowing six hits on the mound.

Chelsea hosts Grand Ledge in a doubleheader Saturday at 10:00 AM.
