Chelsea Baseball Takes Two of Three From Dexter

In a key SEC White baseball early-season showdown, Chelsea took two of three games from rival Dexter this week.

Both teams entered the week with 6-1 overall records, but it was the Bulldogs who came away with the series win.

The opener saw the arm of Carson Robinson and the bat of Hunter Lay carry Chelsea to victory.

Robinson struck out seven and allowed just three hits in six innings of work to pick up the win.

Lay had two hits, including a home run and drove in four runs to lead the Bulldogs offense.

Chelsea took a 4-0 lead after two innings, but Dexter threatened in the fourth. The Dreadnaughts loaded the bases on an infield single, an error, and a walk with nobody out. Kevin DeVoogd hit into a fielders choice to drive in a run to make it 4-1. Lay made a nice running catch of a pop-up down the left field line for the second out and Robinson got a strikeout to end the threat as he let out a yell on the mound as the inning ended.
