Chelsea baseball Wins Six of Seven (With Pictures)

Spring finally arrived, and the long winter forced some rescheduled games for the Chelsea baseball team, but it did not slow them down as the Bulldogs won six of seven games that were played in four days last week.

The Bulldogs opened the week with a single game Wednesday and defeated Ypsilanti 13-1.

A big eight-run fourth inning blew the game open as Chelsea rolled to the mercy.

Hunter Neff led the offense with two hits and two runs scored, while Ryan Bost had a hit and two RBI. Grant Barrett earned the win on the mound with 10 strikeouts.

The Bulldogs then split a doubleheader with a tough Howell squad, dropping the opener 14-3 and winning the second 9-4.

Chelsea collected just two hits in the opener, but they took an early 3-0 lead before Howell exploded for four runs in the third, two in the fourth and five in the fifth.

Carson Robinson picked up an RBI single and Parker Shaw had the other Bulldogs hit.

Chelsea trailed 4-2 in the second but scored two in the fourth and five in the fifth to pull out the win.

Robinson had two hits to lead the offense, while Griffin Bell had a hit and two RBI. Thomas Steele, Neff, and Barrett each had a hit and RBI. Neff earned the win on the mound.

The Bulldogs made quick work of Ypsilanti in a doubleheader sweep by taking down the Grizzlies 11-0 and 16-1.

Robinson earned the win, allowing just three hits and striking out ten in the opener.

Nick Christian led the offense with three hits and three RBI. Barrett had two hits and an RBI, while Hunter Lay had a hit and two RBI. Gavin Bell, Steele, and Neff each had a hit and RBI.

The Bulldogs scored 11 runs in the second inning of the nightcap to roll to the win.

Neff led the offense with two hits and two RBI. Aaron McDaniels had a hit and two RBI, while Steele, Gavin Bell, Christian, Quinn Starkey, and Kyle Knight each had a hit and RBI. Gavin Bell struck out nine for the win on the mound.

The Bulldogs then swept Taylor Kennedy 8-5 and 12-2 Saturday.

Robinson led the offense with two hits and an RBI. Neff had a hit and three RBI, while Barrett, Christian, and Knight each had a hit and RBI. Griffin Bell earned the win on the mound striking out five, while Bost picked up the save.

A big six-run third inning blew open the second game against Kennedy.

Neff led the offense with two hits and three RBI, while Barrett and Lay each had a hit and two RBI. Shaw and Starkey each had a hit and RBI. Griffin Murphy earned the win on the mound striking out one.
