The Chelsea boys’ basketball team used a huge second half comeback rally to stun Ann Arbor Huron 50-48 last week.
Huron took a commanding 16-point lead 33-17 into halftime and looked to be cruising, but the second half was a different story.
The River Rats would extend its lead to 18 in the third, but it was all Bulldogs from there. Chelsea outscored Huron 18-8 in the third to cut the lead 41-35.
They finished the comeback by outscoring the River Rats 15-7 in the final period.
Ronnie Buford led Chelsea with 13 points, while Hunter Lay chipped in with 11. Adam Hauser added eight points, Quinn Starkey seven, Hunter Neff six, Alex Sanborn three and Griffin Bell two.
The Bulldogs used a big first half to cruise to a 65-48 win over Adrian Friday night. Chelsea outscored the Maples 37-23 in the first half to take a commanding 14 point lead.
The Maples tried to make a game of it in the third, cutting the lead to 47-38, but the Bulldogs slammed the door in the final period outscoring Adrian 17-10.
Lay led the way with 13 points. Hauser added 12 point, Buford and Starkey ten each, Neff seven, Gavin Bell six, Drake Doyle five, and Patrick Bertoni two.
