Chelsea Girls’ Tennis Claims 2nd Straight Regional Title

The impressive season continues for the Chelsea girls’ tennis team as the Bulldogs claimed its second straight Division 3 Regional Title Thursday, May 16.

The Bulldogs entered the Regional with a 16-1-2 overall record and ranked 8th in Michigan High School Tennis Coaches Association Poll. Their only loss this season was to 3rd ranked Allegan.

Chelsea dominated the Regional at Haslett, winning seven of the eight flight championships.

Picking up Regional titles for the Bulldogs were Amanda Dosey at two-singles, Rachel Bareis at three, and Sierra Martinez-Kratz at four.

Doubles title went to Maddie Pedlow/Kyra Van Batavia at one doubles, Madelynn O’Hara/Julia Schachinger at two, Madisen Chinavare/Gretchen Kuras at three, and Corrine Dale/ Remy Sturt at four.

The Bulldogs will take part in the D3 State Finals in Novi May 31 and June 1.
