Chelsea Golfers Clinch SEC White Title

The Chelsea boys’ golf team clinched the SEC White title after a second-place finish at the SEC Finals at Leslie Park Golf Course Monday.

The Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 13-0 record in the SEC, but it was a hot shooting Tecumseh squad that took honors Monday. It was not enough to overtake the Bulldogs in the final standings as Chelsea claimed the title.

The Bulldogs finished with a team score of 320, behind the Indians 311.

Brian Tillman earned medalist honors with a round of 75 to lead Chelsea.

Jack Murray shot 78 and Shawn Potter 80. Richard Montoye shot 87, Josh Hanna 89, and Brandon Reisner 91.

Chelsea took part in the Nightmare Invite in West Branch Wednesday and came home with a second-place finish.

The Bulldogs shot a round of 333, beat out by two D1 schools in Traverse City West and Traverse City Central.

Murray led Chelsea with an 18-hole score of 76 and finished fourth overall.

Thomas Olaveson shot an 82 and Drake Booker 84. Hanna finished with 91, Kyle Valik 96, and Ethan Racine 101.
