Chelsea Golfers Fourth at D2 Regionals

It was a disappointing end to the season for the Chelsea boys’ golf team as the Bulldogs came up short in their bid for the D2 state finals with a fourth-place finish at the regional at Tecumseh Country Club May 29.

The Bulldogs were one of the top teams of the region going in, but the Bulldogs struggled, and SEC White rival Tecumseh busted through with a surprise medalist to finish third and knock the Bulldogs out of the team event.

Brian Tillman shot a round of 79 and qualified as an individual for the Bulldogs with a fourth-place finish.

Jack Murray finished 17th with a round of 85, while Shane Potter was 26th with a score of 89. Thomas Olaveson and Richard Montoye both finished with rounds of 91.

The Bulldogs finished with a team score of 344, behind champion Detroit Country Day with 328, Trenton 300, and Tecumseh 344.
