Hanna Brodeur, a 2017 Chelsea High School graduate, was recently awarded the Eastern Michigan University Greg O’Dell Endowed Criminal Justice Student Scholarship. This prestigious award is a scholarship endowed in memory of the late EMU Police Chief Greg O’Dell who cared a great deal both about education and the department’s students.

Every year, this award provides a substantial scholarship to an exemplary student with a major in Criminology. Students must apply for the scholarship and the recipient is selected by the program faculty in cooperation with the university committee working with this scholarship. Hanna was the sole recipient for this honor.

With her hard work and dedication to education, this marks her seventh scholarship since graduating high school. She is currently finishing her second year at EMU, has been on the Dean’s list every semester since beginning EMU in the fall of 2017. Hanna is a criminal justice major specializing in legal studies.  She will pursue law school upon graduation from EMU.
