Chelsea Hockey Drops Pair of One Goal Games in Gaylord

The Bulldogs dropped a pair of hard fought one-goal games at the D3 Showcase in Gaylord this past weekend.

They opened with a 4-3 loss to Dearborn Divine Child.

Divine Child took a 2-0 lead in the first period, but second period goals by Vowles and Holmberg tied the game at 2-2 after the second period.

Dearborn struck quickly in the third with a pair of goals 11 seconds apart to start the third period for a 4-2 lead.

Sullivan found the net with 11:40 left in the third to cut the lead to 4-3, but the Bulldogs were unable to tie it.

Law, Westcott and Brady Fleszar each recorded assists for the Bulldogs. Boote made 26 saves in net.

Chelsea then fell to Big Rapids 3-2 Saturday.

A Holmberg goal in the first period left the game tied at 1-1, but Big Rapids scored a pair in the second to take the lead.

Jozwiak scored a second period goal for Chelsea to make it 3-2, but that would be all the scoring.

The Bulldogs return to action Saturday night when they host rival Dexter.
