The Bulldogs opened the weekend by falling to Lowell/Caledonia 4-3 in overtime Friday, January 18.
After a scoreless first period, the Bulldogs started the second period fast with goals by Gabe Vowles and Nathan Jozwiak to take a 2-0 lead. It stayed that way until the final three minutes of the period when Lowell exploded for three goals in 30 seconds to take a 3-2 lead. Lowell scored on the powerplay with 2:41 left in the period. They found the net 19 seconds later to tie the game and 11 second after theat they took the lead and ssent the Bulldogs to the locker room stunned.
Chelsea regrouped in the third when Brad Sullivan scored a power play goal just over a minute into the period to tie it at 3-3.
Neither team could find the net the remainder of the third sending the game into overtime where Lowell would score to pull out the win.
Nicklas Holmberg picked up two assists for the Bulldogs, while Brady Fleszar, Tyler Emmert, Vowles, and Sullivan each recorded assists. Aidan Boote maded 37 saves in net for Chelsea.
The Bulldogs fell to a strong Forest Hills Northern/Eastern team 5-2 Saturday.
Sullivan scored for Chelsea in the second period to make it 2-1 FHNE.
FHNE exploded for three goals in the third period to put the game away.
