The Chelsea lacrosse team could not overcome a fast start by Battle Creek Harper Creek Monday night and fell to the Beavers 11-3.

Harper Creek came out fast and took a 3-0 lead after one period.

The Beavers were called for a penalty late in the first and the Bulldogs capitalized early in the second when Cam Breining fired a shot that skipped by the goaltender and into the lower corner.

Harper Creek answered with a pair of goals before Breining found the net for a second time to make it 5-2.

It was all Beavers after that.

Harper Creek scored one before the end of the half for a 6-2 lead and would add four goals in the third to make it 10-2 after three.

The lead grew to 11-2 in the fourth before Breining picked up his third goal of the game to end the scoring.

The Bulldogs were outshot 20-11 in the game. They return to the field Wednesday when they host Holt.
