The Chelsea lacrosse team appears to be turning things around at the right time as the Bulldogs rallied from two goals down after three periods to defeat Belleville 9-7 Friday.

The win was the second in three games for the Bulldogs to improve their record to 3-10 overall on the season.

Belleville struck first, but Myles Bieber quickly tied it up at 1-1 before Jacob Dolber found the net to put Chelsea up one early in the second.

Thomas Shemwell put the Bulldogs up 3-2 and Dolber scored his second of the game late in the first half for a 4-3 lead at the break.

Belleville outscored the Bulldogs 3-0 in the third to take a 6-4 lead, but the CHelsea defense locked down and the Bulldogs would rally in the fourth.

Braden Kennedy struck first to cut the lead to 6-5 with just over eight minutes left and Cade Ahlstrom fired one home to tie the game a 6-6 just moments later.

Dolber put the Bulldogs back on top with his third goal and Ahlstrom scored his second of the game to put Chelsea up 8-6.

Belleville got one back to cut the lead to 8-7 with 2:17 left and had a chance to tie the game in the final minutes, but the Bulldogs picked up a loose ball and Kennedy sealed the win with a goal with 23 seconds left.

Chelsea opened the week by rolling past Ypsilanti Lincoln 15-5.

Kennedy had a big night with a team leading five goals.

Cody Cox, Ahlstrom, and Chase Barber scored two goals each, while Colten Vargo, Kaden Davidson and Jacob Brant each scored one. Zach Wurster made 11 saves in net for the Bulldogs.

In between the two wins, the Bulldogs dropped a hard fought 13-9 decision to rival Dexter.
