A fast start by the Bulldogs put them in control for the game as they continued to work through injuries and missing players due to other commitments.

“It was an emphasis,” said Bulldog head coach Joe Koengeter on the fast start. “We knew we had to come out and set the tempo of the game. We focused on that in practice yesterday.”
Bulldog junior Kyle Mitchell, sophomore Tyler Wallgren, and sophomore Mitchell Sumner added the Bulldog goals in the second quarter with senior Christian Radcliff and Valen LaVasseur adding goals for the Pirates to make it 9-2 in favor of the Bulldogs heading into the half.
Radcliff would lead the Pirates with a hattrick.
After the half, the Bulldogs added to their lead making it a running clock in the fourth quarter.
Boote added his fourth, Breining got his third, and Mitchell got his second, with Radcliff added his final goal to make the final score 17-5.
“We moved the ball pretty well,” said Koengeter after the game. “We possessed and did well on face-offs. That was a big key to tonight. Still the penalties, we need to work on those moving forward.”
