Chelsea Soccer Showdown for SEC Title this Week

Barring an early week upset loss, the Chelsea girls’ soccer team will take on defending champion Pinckney with the SEC White title on the line Wednesday.

The Bulldogs sit atop the SEC White with a 7-1 record. Adrian is right behind at 6-1-1 and Pinckney is third at 5-2-1.

With a win over Jackson Monday the Bulldogs will host the Pirates Wednesday with a chance at the SEC White title with a win or a tie. A win would clinch the title outright, a tie they would share the title with Adrian and a loss would give the Maples the title if they can beat Tecumseh and Ypsilanti this week.

The Bulldogs defeated Tecumseh 7-0 Wednesday.

Chelsea jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and never looked back in the win over the Indians.

Christina Roberts recorded a hat trick of three goals to lead the Bulldogs.

Single goals went to Grace Ratliff, Addison McCarthy, Kate McKenzie, and Emma Ruszkiewicz.

Isabella D’Alecy earned the shutout in net for the Bulldogs.

Chelsea took down Ypsilanti 6-1 earlier in the week.

Goal scorers for the Bulldogs were Roberts with two, McKenzie, Ratliff, McCarthy, and Caroline Knight

The Bulldogs improved to 9-4 overall on the season.
