Chelsea Softball Falls to Eaton Rapids in Districts

The Chelsea softball team fell to Eaton Rapids 6-1 in a game that featured two 30 win teams in the opening round of Division 2 district at Chelsea Saturday.

The Bulldogs had no answer the Greyhounds start pitcher Grace Lehto. They could muster just four hits against Lehto with two of them coming in the seventh when they were trailing 6-0.

Eaton Rapids jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first. They made it 4-0 with two in the third and 6-0 with two insurance runs in the sixth.

Chelsea’s lone run came on an RBI single by Sydney Hines that drove home Peighton Root in the seventh.

Root finished with two hits and a run scored, Hine a hit and RBI, and Alise Hale a single. Maddie Kemp struck out one in the loss.
