The Chelsea softball team looked impressive in its season-opening doubleheader vs Adrian Monday, April 8 as the Bulldogs came away with an 18-2, 18-1 sweep of Adrian.

The Bulldogs scored in every inning in the opener and put the game away with nine runs in the fifth.

Maddy Scheese had a big game with three hits and three RBI, including a home run.

Maddie Kemp pounded three doubles and had two RBI, while Hayley Townsend had two triples and five RBI. Peighton Root had two hits and three RBI, including a home run, while Maddie Vasquez and Stephanie Dark had two hits each.

Kemp struck out ten and allowed two hits for the win on the mound.

Alison Hale struck out eight and allowed five hits for the win in the second game.

Sydnee Liedel had a huge game with four hits and five RBI. Hale and Townsend had three hits and two RBI each, while Kemp had two hits and an RBI. Root and Emily Savery had a hit and two RBI’s each.

The Bulldogs host, Adrian-Madison, Woodhaven, and Haslett in a home quad Saturday starting at 10:00 AM
