A high-powered offense helped carry the Chelsea softball team to three home wins at a home quad Saturday.

The Bulldogs plated 44 runs in the three games and smacked three home runs on the day, including two by Maddie Vasquez.

Chelsea opened with a 13-9 win over Adrian-Madison.

The Bulldogs took control early with five runs in the first and four in the second. They extended the lead to 10-0 before Madison would rally.

Madison cut the lead to 11-6 before the Bulldogs scored two more in the fifth to make it 13-6. Madison scored three runs in the seventh but came up short.

Stephanie Dark had a big game with four hits, three RBI, and four runs scored. Peighton Root and Maddie Kemp had three hits and three RBI each, while Maddy Scheese had a hit and three RBI.

Kemp earned the win on the mound, striking out eight.

The Bulldogs scored seven runs in the 6th inning to take the second game from Woodhaven 17-10.

The Bulldogs rallied to take an 8-5 lead after three, but a grand slam in the fourth gave Woodhaven a 9-8 lead.

An RBI triple by Hayley Townsend and RBI single by Alison Hale tied the game at 10 in the fifth.

The Bulldogs batted around in the 6th to plate the seven runs, the big blow being a two-run homer by Vasquez to make it 17-10.

Hayley Townsend went 5-5 and 5 RBI against Woodhaven

Townsend was a beast at the plate, going 5 for 5 with five RBI’s in the game. Scheese and Vasquez each had three hits and two RBI’s. Hale had two hits and two RBI, while Kemp had two hits and one RBI, and Dark three hits for the Bulldogs.

Kemp earned the win in relief, striking out four. The third game saw the Bulldogs roll over Haslett 14-4.

Chelsea broke open the game with six runs in the third. Back to back home runs by Root and Vasquez in the sixth, helped finish off the mercy over the Vikings.

Kemp had a big game at the plate with four hits and three RBI. Dark had two hits and two RBI, while Katherine Thoms and Root had two hit and an RBI each.

Hale earned the win with nine strikeouts on the mound.

The Bulldogs improved to 5-0 on the season and host rival Dexter in a key SEC White showdown Monday at 4:00.
