Chelsea Tennis Splits Pair of Matches

The Chelsea tennis team came up just short in its match against Saline last week as the Bulldogs fell to the Hornets 5-3.

The deciding match came at three doubles where Kyle Mitchell and Evan Erber split their first two sets  6-1 and 1-6, setting up a deciding third set. The Bulldogs need it to earn a tie, but they come up short in the marathon set that went to the Hornets 13-11 to give them the win.

Picking up wins for Chelsea were Tyler Emmert-Drew Vanderspool 6-2, 6-0 at one doubles, Landon Napieralski-AJ Mitchell 6-1, 6-1 at two doubles, and Jack Mannor-Jack Krugh 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 in four doubles.

The Bulldogs defeated Mason 6-2 earlier in the week.

Picking up wins were Lucas Glendening at two singles 6-1 6-2, Lucas Hopkins at four singles 6-2 6-0, Vanderspool/Emmert one doubles 6-2 5-7 6-2, Mitchell and Napieralski two doubles 6-2 6-3, Kyle Mitchell and Evan Erber three doubles 4-6 6-0 6-2, Mannor and Kruger four doubles 7-6 (5) 6-3.
