Incident #: 24-1897 Location: 900 block of S. Main Street

INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, officers responded to the 900 block of S. Main Street to take a report for a Retail Fraud that was believed to have occurred in May but had just recently been discovered. The officers arrived on the scene and made contact with the complainant, who stated that they had reviewed surveillance footage and discovered that the theft of a large amount of beauty products had occurred on May 21, 2024. The complainant stated that there were at least two unidentified female suspects that had participated in the theft. The case remains open pending further investigation into the identity of the suspects and review of the surveillance footage.

Incident #: 24-1887 Location: F.A. Weber Drive X Sibley Road

INFORMATION: While on routine patrol an officer was dispatch to the area of F.A. Weber Drive for the report of some damage that had been discovered to an art mosaic. Upon arrival the officer made contact with the complainant who stated that they had recently discovered some new damage to an art mosaic. The officer took photographs of the new damage that
was being reported and concluded that the damage had most likely been made intentionally by one or more suspects. At the time of the report there was no suspect information available.

Incident #: 24-1869 Location: Wilkinson Street X W. Middle Street

INFORMATION: While on routine patrol an officer was dispatched to the lobby of the Chelsea Police Department to take a walk-in Malicious Destruction of Property complaint. Upon arrival the officer met with the complainant who stated that he had been traveling north on Wilkinson Street and was traveling at or below the posted speed, when a vehicle passed him. The complainant stated that he observed the vehicle proceed and turn west onto W. Middle Street and pull into a nearby parking lot. The complainant stated that he followed the vehicle into the parking lot and an altercation took place. The complainant stated that he exchanged words with the driver of the vehicle and at some point, the suspect hit the complainant’s windshield twice, causing cracks in the windshield. The officer made contact with the suspect, identified as a 47-year-old Chelsea man and gathered his statement regarding what had taken place. The suspect stated that he had gotten blocked in and a verbal altercation ensued. The suspect stated that the complainant had blocked him in and was aggressive towards him. The suspect stated that at one point during the altercation he hit his hands on the windshield but it was in an attempt to get the complainant to leave. The suspect was unsure whether he had caused the damage or whether the windshield had been damaged prior to the altercation. The case was turned over to the investigator for further investigation and follow-up.
