Date: July 1, 2024 Time: 10:09 am
INFORMATION: A complainant came into the Chelsea Police Department to report that she needed to file an identity theft/fraud complaint. The complainant stated that she had been informed by her financial institution that there had been multiple credit inquiries on her account between June 10th till July 1st. The complainant stated that when she was notified of these inquiries, she contacted all three of the credit bureaus and confirmed that all of the inquiries were fraudulent. The complainant put a fraud alert and freeze on her credit through the credit bureaus. The complainant was able to determine that because of the excessive number of inquiries, it did not appear that any new accounts had been successfully opened. At the time of the report there was no known monetary loss to the complainant and no suspect(s) information available.
