Chelsea Wrestlers Fifth at Holt Invite

The Chelsea wrestling team came home with a fifth place finish out of 18 teams at the tough Holt Invitational Saturday, January 19.

The Bulldogs finished with 124 points. Just one point out of fourth and 11 out of third. Holt won the tournament with 165 points.

Josiah Fitch went 5-0 and won the 285 division with a 2-1 overtime win in the championship match.

Nick Matusko remains undefeated on the season at 35-0 afer going 4-0 today and winning the 140 title.

Cole Munson improved to 33-7 by finishing second at 130, while Mitchell Reynolds improved to 32-6 on the year and finished second at 152.

Brandon De Gracia finished third at 119 and improved his record to 28-7 on the season.

Daniel Golding improved to 29-11 and finished 4th at 189.

The Bulldogs split a pair of SEC matches earlier in the week by beating Ypsilanti 69-9 and falling to Saline 43-26.

Matusko and Fitch lead the Bulldogs with two wins each. DeGracia, Munson, Reynolds, Dalton Grabarczylc (112) Daniel Garza (125) Nate Banotai (130), and Zach Dosey (171) each earned single wins.
