The Chelsea wrestling team rolled into the holiday break with an impressive showing at the Grass Lake Invitational Friday, December 21, losing just 10 of 70 matches and going 5-0 on the day to claim the team title.
The Bulldogs easily won the title, not giving up more than 18 points in a dual.
They defeated Blissfield 65-15, Reading 60-18, Concord 60-10, Grass Lake 64-3, and Pittsford 82-0.
Josiah Fitch (285), Daniel Garza (125), and Daniel Golding (215) picked up three wins each to lead the Bulldogs.
Nick Matusko (145), Dalton Grabaczylc (112), Nate Banatoi (125), Mitchell Reynolds (160), Cole Munson (135), Luke Vella (145), and Shane Nold (160) picked up two wins each for Chelsea.
Picking up single wins were Zach Dosey (160), Sawyer Northrop (140) Andrew Byerly (189), Brandon de Gracia (119), and Jonas Norwood (103).
The Bulldogs improved to 3-1 in the SEC with a pair of wins at Jackson Wednesday night.
Chelsea defeated Jackson 39-24 and Ypsilanti Lincoln 66-12.
Fitch and de Gracia picked up two wins apiece to lead Chelsea. Single wins went to Tyler Hochrein (152), Dosey, Norwood, Banatoi, Munson, Matusko, Nold, and Reynolds.
