The Children’s Fair Parade, organized and sponsored by the Chelsea Kiwanis Club and Chelsea High School Key Club, will mark the official opening of the Chelsea Fair on Aug. 20 as it has done for over half a century.

The parade is geared towards children from ages 3-12, with each child in the oared receiving a ride ticket courtesy of the Chelsea Fair Board. The parade route will take everyone down West Middle street before turning left on Grant street. It will then continue on Pierce Street, past South School and right onto Taylor street.

Various kids games and activities will be taking place in the main arena as the parade arrives.

The parade is estimated to take about 20-30 minutes to arrive at the fairground. With it being over a mile-long route, parents are asked to walk with younger children in the parade.
