City of Dexter




Pursuant to Michigan Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, notice is hereby given that the City of Dexter Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, April 17, 2017.  The hearing will take place at the Dexter Senior Center, 7720 Ann Arbor Street, Dexter, Michigan.  The purpose of hearing is to take public comments regarding the following variance application:

The applicant, SPB Equities II, LLC, is requesting the following variances from Section 7.03, Ground Signs, sub-section (1)F for a ground sign at the 2830 Baker Road (08-08-06-400-005):

9-foot variance from the required 10-foot setback from the Baker Road right-of-way; and

6-foot variance from the 15-foot required setback from the principal entrance driveway

If granted, a ground sign would be allowed to be setback 1-foot from the Baker Road planned right-of-way and 9 feet from the principal entrance driveway.

The applicant is requesting the variances due to practical difficulties associated with the property.

The application is available for public inspection at the City Offices, 8123 Main Street, 2nd Floor, Dexter, MI 48130; weekdays between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Any questions regarding the rezoning application should be directed to the Office of Community Development at 734-580-2233.

Interested parties are welcome to attend the public hearing and present their comments.  Written comments regarding the proposal should be submitted to the Office of Community Development at the address listed above or via email to, and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2017.

Sign language interpreter, or other assistance, may be provided upon request to the City Clerk, at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting.  Minutes of all meetings are available on the City website,
