NOTICEOF ADOPTION
ORDINANCE NO. 2024 – 04

At a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Dexter, Michigan called to order by Mayor Keough on, June 10, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at 3515 Broad St., Dexter, MI 48130, the following ordinance was adopted:

MEMBERS PRESENT: Griffin, Hubbard, Michels, Schlaff, Semifero, and Keough
MEMBERS ABSENT: Aldag

AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE WATER, SEWER, AND RUBBISH RATES EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2024
The City of Dexter hereby ordains:
Section 1: SEWER RATES
Ready to Serve Monthly Fee $12.47
Per 1,000 Gallons $15.34

Section 2: WATER RATES
Ready To Serve Monthly Fee $10.34
First Meter Per 1,000 Gallons $4.66
Second Meter Per 1,000 Gallons $6.30

Section 3: RUBBISH RATES
Residential Rubbish Monthly Fee $29.92
Commercial Rubbish Rate Contracted Rate + 3%

Section 4: OTHER CHARGES AND PENALTIES
Penalties on Late Charges 2% Cumulative
Turn-on and Turn-off Charges $35
Meter Calibration Charge $35
Water Only Meter 1 inch $350

Section 5: EXTRA STRENGTH SURCHARGES/INDUSTRIAL COST RECOVERY
Extra Strength Surcharges:
BOD in excess of 300 mg/l $1.18/pound
Suspended solids in excess of 275 mg/l $0.42/pound
Phosphorous as P in excess of 12 mg/l $8.73/pound

Industrial Cost Recovery:
Water usage in excess of 22 gpepd $0.52 per 1,000 gal.
BOD in excess of 300 mg/l $1.18/pound
Suspended solids in excess of 275 mg/l $0.42/pound
Phosphorous as P in excess of 12 mg/l $8.73/pound

Section 6: Effective Date

This Ordinance shall take effect upon publication as required by Section 15.12 of the City of Dexter Charter.
