OCTOBER 24, 2016


The Regular meeting of the Saline City Council was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Marl at Saline City Hall.  The Mayor and six members of Council were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.  There were four presentations. There were four citizen comments. By unanimous vote of Council, the Agenda was approved as amended.


The following Consent Agenda items were approved as amended by unanimous vote of Council: Council minutes of the October 3, 2016 Regular meeting; Payment of Bills; Proclamation of Veteran’s Appreciation and Recognition Week; Proclamation of National Friends of the Library Week; Appointment of Dan Carroll to the Planning Commission; appointment of John Ambrose to the Historic District Commission.  The approval of fees for the Commercial Rehabilitation Exemption was approved separately.

Public Hearing:

City Council opened and closed a public hearing for MMI Engineered Solutions IFT Application.  There was one public comment.  Council unanimously approved the IFT Application for five years.

City Council opened and closed a public hearing to create a Commercial Rehabilitation District.  There were no public comments.  Council voted unanimously to approve the creation of a Commercial Rehabilitation District.

City Council opened and closed a public hearing for Emagine Theatre Commercial Rehabilitation Exemption.  There were no public comments.  Council voted, six ayes and one nay, to approve the Commercial Rehabilitation Exemption.

New Business:

Council voted to approve the following: Audit Report from Plante Moran for Fiscal Year End June 30, 2016; the extension of the 207 Monroe Street Listing with Reinhart Company; The purchase of a DPW tractor/mower; to retain Jon Hess for a Police Department Review.

There were ten Discussion and/or Report items.  There were no public comments.

Council voted to adjourn at 10:01 p.m.
