Two big innings are all it took for the Dexter baseball team to pick up a doubleheader sweep of Ypsilanti Monday.

The Dreadnaughts scored 19 runs in the second inning of the opener and rolled to a 21-0 three-inning win.

Dexter went through the line-up nearly three times in the big second inning. The big blow of the inning was a grand slam by Drew Bielas.

Bielas finished with two hits and seven RBI in the game. Owen Huard had three hits and an RBI and Brady Rosen two hits and three RBI. Grant Stehley had two hits and an RBI, Hayden Walworth a hit and two RBI, and Alex Mills a hit and RBI.


Rosen was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts in three innings.

The second game saw the Dreadnaughts score ten in the second as they cruised to a 12-2 win.

Dexter sent 14 batters to the plate in the second as they blew the game open. A three-run double by Reid Ladd was the big hit of the inning for the Dreads.

Nathaniel Fiegel led the offense with three hits and three runs scored. Jacob Haley and Hunter Christunas each had a hit and two RBI. Ladd had a hit and three RBI, while Kevin Devoogd had a hit and scored two runs.

Owen Huard earned the win on the mound with five strikeouts.

The Dreadnaughts finished the three-game sweep with a 16-1 pounding on Wednesday.

Fiegel finished with three hits and an RBI, while Huard had two hits and three RBI to lead the offense. Haley had two hits and an RBI and Rosen two hits and two RBI.

Fiegel was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts.

Dexter remained undefeated in the SEC White at 9-0 with a three-game sweep of Adrian.

They pounded the Maples 11-0 in the opener.

Mack Martin had a big day with three hits and four RBI, while Andrew Spicer had two hits and three RBI. Alex Mills had two hits and scored two runs.

Ryan Schoch struck out two for the win.

The Dreads then defeated Adrian 9-1 in the opener of a doubleheader Saturday.

Schoch had two hits and three RBI and Stehley two hits and one RBI. Martin and David Kreske each had three hits and scored a run.

Martin struck out 10 on the mound in six innings for the win.

Dexter finished the sweep with a 9-0 shutout of the Maples. Mills led the offense with two hits and two RBI. Bielas and Kreske each had two hits and RBI, while Fiegel added a hit and two RBI.

The game was just 2-0 heading into the seventh, but the Dreads scored seven times to blow it open.
